URIWA SANGGWANEOPSI is a debut film shot in black and white and starts out by laying out a clearly delineated plot with corresponding character constellations. Yet around halfway though, director Heong-jun Yoo withdraws any sort of clear basis to what has been established: is this now a film in a film? A dream? An invented memory? Or a real memory of something that happened before the actual plot got going?
